Partner Visa in Australia

To apply for the Partner Visa it is necessary that the couple live together and have one of the following figures:
- Registered Relationship
- Relationship “De Facto” and have lived together for at least 12 months before the application.
The couple must show 4 areas of interdependence
Evidence that the couple share financial obligations.
Example: joint account
Evidence that other people know the couple.
Example: Friend statements
Evidence that the couple live together.
Example: Shared housing contract (Leasing).
Evidence that the couple is committed to each other.
Example: personal statements
What happens if the couple separates before the visa is approved?
The couple must report the permanent separation within 28 days.
Can the applicant still get Permanent Residence?
Potentially yes, but only in 3 circumstances:
1. If the applicant suffers domestic violence
2. If the sponsor dies (not killed by the applicant)
3. If the couple shares joint custody of a child.
